Week two kids bedroom reveals divide judges as one team slammed

After facing a series of setbacks and unique challenges in the first week of the competition, this year’s contestants on The Block were handed a mammoth task in week two. Not only did they have to renovate two kids bedrooms, but they also had to upholster a bedhead that would be showcased in one of the rooms.

There was plenty on the line this week, with the winners receiving around $175,000 worth of appliances from e&s in addition to the $10,000 prize. With all five teams having the exact same layout, timeframe, and suggested budget of $15,000, here’s what they each presented to the judges.

Emma and Ben received high praise for both of their rooms from the judges, who said they had been executed to a really high standard. They received some criticism in their second room for the functionality and wall panelling, which was a “last-minute mistake” because they didn’t have enough wallpaper.

“They delivered exactly what I would expect from a Block bedroom,” Darren Palmer remarked.
