Walmart has announced a New Home Office, calling it “the future of better.”
Cindi Marsiglio, senior vice president of corporate real estate at Walmart, shared her thoughts regarding the opening of the company’s New Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas, in a press release. She believes the new Walmart business headquarters will better help shape the company’s future and create an environment for its workers that will make going to the office more enjoyable, healthier, and an overall happier experience.
“This isn’t just a workplace; it’s a nod to our proud past and our bright future, sparking innovation and community. It’s a world-class campus, Walmart style — one that genuinely mirrors our core values and mission, respects our legacy, and fuels our future,” Marsiglio said in the release.
She continued, “Throughout our journey, we listened to thousands of ideas, suggestions, and dreams to create a space that truly serves the people who bring Walmart to life. Their input, on everything from design features to wellness offerings to eateries of choice, has been invaluable.”
Marsiglio added that the new Walmart offices will also feature a series of retail shops. She discussed the introduction of companies that will inhabit the retail space, such as Bentonville Bicycle Company, Flyway Brewing, Gearhead Outfitters, The Gents Place, Hatch Early Mood Food, Jamba Juice, Riserva Bar + Tapas, Swig, Walmart Pharmacy, Wright’s BBQ, and Yokozuna Sushi. She explained that these locations are set to welcome customers in the coming weeks and months but did not give a definitive date when they would open.
The new corporate offices will also offer many employee perks, including multiple parking options, fitness and childcare facilities, and different types of meal options. Marsiglio believes that this type of workplace will help employees “thrive.” She stated, “This campus is proof of what’s possible when we put people first.”
Walmart’s New Campus Is Filled With Sustainable Advancements, Work-Life Balance for Employees
Walmart’s New Home Office is at the forefront of both sustainability and technology. The company made a conscious decision to ensure its new campus would reflect a “sustainable future.” Associates have spent a combined 8 million project hours to date on this project, and those hours are expected to reach 10 million by the time the campus is complete.
In her statement, Marsiglio shared details of the build, including the use of mass timber in construction. The campus buildings are also designed to achieve LEED Platinum standards.
To achieve LEED Platinum status, a building must be energy efficient, use less water, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, use sustainable materials, reduce waste, improve indoor environmental quality, and improve occupant health and well-being.
Half of the new Walmart campus is green space and includes more than 750,000 native plants and 5,000 planted trees. For workers, the experience includes 7 miles of walking and biking paths, over 1,000 bike parking spots, 300 EV charging stations, and a rentable bike fleet.
Also located on the campus is the Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness. For workers, the facility includes healthy dining options, fitness classes, recovery services, a nutrition kitchen, education and connection spaces, and meditation gardens.
“Providing associates with easy access to offerings that enhance health and well-being is an essential element of whole health. Our family is delighted to provide the support for these innovative resources,” said Alice Walton, Sam Walton’s only daughter, in a statement.
