The Sioux Falls ClubHouse Hotel & Suites now offers more guest rooms, enhanced amenities and never-before-seen views.

The hotel at 2320 S. Louise Ave. recently finished construction on an addition of 42 guest rooms off the southeast corner of the property, adjacent to the Big Sioux River.

“It turned out great, and the response from guests has been phenomenal,” said Josh Schmaltz, president and CEO of The Ramkota Companies, which owns and operates the property.

Built by Beck & Hofer Construction, the new addition offers golf course views, and all rooms facing the river include patios or decks.

“The rooms in the new addition are a little bigger, with a similar feel to the original building, but we used some different colors and materials,” Schmaltz said.

“We also did a complete overhaul of the landscaping of the original building and the new, so it all looks brand-new, and the courtyard in the back is spectacular.”

The rooms are a mix of king and double queens, along with some new two-bedroom suites.

“Our ClubHouse in Sioux Falls has had many loyal guests for years, and some have said they can’t believe it’s the same building,” Schmaltz said.

“We have some regulars who always reserved their usual room, and now that they’ve tried a room in the new addition, it’s their new go-to.”

The expansion also includes a hospitality suite, which evolved from the original vision of adding a boardroom.

“We have so many athletic teams that stay with us, whether it’s college or youth sports, that we thought this would be a really cool addition,” Schmaltz said.

“Kids can go in and hook up video games and play, or if you’re a team that wants to go over coaching, we have two big TVs. And we can still change the setup if you’d like to host a business meeting there, so we think it’s going to be very well received, and we’ve already seen it’s going to get used as a gathering place.”

Other new amenities include an enlarged fitness center, “which is three times the size of the original, so that’s been well received,” Schmaltz said. “Our corporate guests especially like to hit the gym in the morning and the evening, so that’s been great.”

The new addition brings the ClubHouse to a total of 144 rooms and is the final phase of a multiyear improvement project.

It included a top-to-bottom renovation of the original building, which opened in 2005, including all guest rooms and public spaces.

Highlights include an expanded breakfast area that doubled in size and an updated design for the Great Room, which serves as a popular spot for gathering and hosts a manager’s social hour with complimentary snacks and beverages for guests from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

“We’re really happy with how everything came together,” Schmaltz said. “Now, it’s time to get back to business taking care of guests and wowing them with our new rooms, renovated rooms and customer service.”
