Hotel Commonwealth is a well-known 245-guestroom luxury property in Boston, Massachusetts, just steps from the historic Fenway Park and Kenmore Square. It’s recognized for its ability to capture a balance between spirited urban Boston energy and a location that features a quiet residential mood. Large, light-filled guest rooms and on-site dining options, including the legendary Blue Ribbon Sushi and Row 34—a vivacious, neighborhood-focused seafood restaurant and oyster bar—make for an upscale, refined, yet fun visitor experience. But many folks might not know before checking in that there’s a unique guest room on-site called “The Fenway Park Suite.”
An Exceptionally Special On-site Guest Room
This special room is themed after the historic MLB team that plays in town, the Boston Red Sox. It’s a dream for Red Sox fans and general baseball lovers alike. The luxurious, themed suite is designed for fans of the Boston Red Sox with its decor, but it is a fun and unexpected experience overall for those who have the chance to book a night in these one-of-a-kind quarters.
Hotel Commonwealth is very close to Fenway Park. In fact, the property claims this special Fenway Park Suite is just 507 feet from Fenway itself—close enough to throw (or catch) a baseball if you have a strong enough arm and glove! This two-room suite features a private king bedroom and a separate living room, roughly 700 square feet. And the suite even has a walk-out balcony terrace area that provides direct views of Fenway Park, including the iconic Green Monster wall.
Guests will enjoy the little details in the room’s amenities. These include a fully equipped wet bar and an oversized marble bathroom with a glass‑enclosed walk‑in dual shower and double vanity. There are also two 48‑inch flat‑panel smart TVs with Google Chromecast (as if the game weren’t happening right across the street).
There are a few special thematic memorabilia and design elements that make the suite especially unique, if you’re a Red Sox fan. Admire the original ballpark seats on the walk‑out terrace. There’s also real “Fenway dirt” there (a small amount of actual dirt from around the ballpark) and a baseball mitt to catch record‑distance home run balls. The “#6” is from the Green Monster scoreboard (which was retired for Johnny Pesky), and there are signed baseballs, vintage baseball cards of Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, Dom DiMaggio, and Johnny Pesky, among other one-of-a-kind collectibles.
