Austin’s Guest House Launches Race Week Social Club With Dre London

Formula 1 week all over the world has become a showcase for prominent chefs, restaurants and nightlife groups, with everything from Carbone Beach and Massimo Bottura pop-ups in Miami to Camphor and a Wolfgang Puck/Tetsuya Wakuda collaboration in Singapore while the highest tier of DJs fill mega-clubs. So in Austin this weekend, the buzz is about a lot more than Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Sting and Eminem at the Circuit of the Americas.

The Guest House, Austin’s new hot spot for cuisine with a scene, will amp up its vibe dining and introduce its brunch menu during the action-packed Formula 1 United States Grand Prix week.

The downtown Austin destination, which opened in February and has served guests including Michael Jordan, Zedd, Steve Aoki, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Adrian Grenier and Dasha, is launching its Race Week Social Club on Thursday. This series of nighttime and daytime revelry is curated by music-management powerhouse/Don Londres tequila founder Dre London and presented by inKind (a rapidly ascending hospitality company that has now funded close to 2,500 restaurants nationwide), Resorts World Las Vegas and Zouk Group.

The headliners at The Guest House this week include DJ/model Chantel Jeffries on Thursday, German footballer Loris Karius on Friday and French EDM superstar Cedric Gervais on Saturday. Table packages, separate from normal dinner reservations, are required for the Race Week Social Club events that run from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and will include a set menu of chef Todd Mark Miller’s signature dishes. (The special menu hasn’t been released yet, but Miller is known for crowd-pleasers like ossetra caviar toast, lobster BLT sliders, wagyu pastrami, spicy rigatoni, seared diver scallops, an over-the-top wagyu French onion burger and wagyu steak au poivre. So guests can expect a luxurious experience with both surf and turf.)

As usual, “theatrical cocktails” at The Guest House like the Looking Glass Martini, the Magic Mushroom, the Tea Party and the Tulgey Woods will sparkle, glow and/or smoke as part of an interactive and purposefully social-media-friendly experience. (The Guest House is a transporting restaurant that’s open seven days a week, with DJ-fueled Tuesdays and Wednesdays that feel like weekends). This is Alice in Wonderland for grown-ups who want to get buzzed. And for the Race Week Social Club, there will also be a special Don Londres tequila cocktail menu, featuring drinks including a mango margarita.

The Guest House is part of RDM Hospitality, the new restaurant group that debuted its reimagined Etta in Scottsdale last month. RDM is expanding around the country, with plans to open another Guest House at Town Square in Las Vegas later this year. There’s chatter about that forthcoming Guest House possibly starting its engines with an event during November’s Formula 1 week in Vegas.
