An investigation is underway after two people were found dead inside an El Dorado County home on Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 5500 block of Crossbill Lane in Diamond Springs around 1:42 p.m. Sgt. Kyle Parker told KCRA 3 the 911 call came from inside of the house where the shooting was reported.“Our deputies, they immediately responded to the residence out of abundance of caution for safety for the individuals inside. They made entry into the residence where, unfortunately, they found two deceased elderly individuals,” Parker said.The two people dead when deputies arrived were an elderly man and an elderly woman, the sheriff’s office said. Officials have not confirmed the cause of death for either the man or woman. The sheriff’s office said there are no outstanding suspects in the death investigation. Neighbors told KCRA 3 the man and woman who died were an elderly couple who had lived in the home for years and that they will be greatly missed.This is a developing story.
